Glossy succulent leaves native to South Africa, Aptenia cordifolia is a perennial creeping plant. Variegated baby sun rose present green and cream variegated leaves.
Its shiny, bright flowers attract butterflies, bees and other insects. It is a drought-resistant plant, tolerates high rainfall and irregular watering.
Leaves and flowers of this species are edible and largely appreciated in French cuisine. Easy to grow, Aptenia cordifolia is a very good choice as a succulent groundcover and in addition to rock gardens, Mediterranean and costal gardens.
