Perennial herbaceous with strongly jagged foliage, the yarrow is widely spread as a spontaneous plant throughout northern Italy. This cultivar is characterized by the mix of different colors of the flowers: orange, pink, white, pale yellow.

The plant prefers well-drained soil in full sun.

Achillea millefolium is largely cultivated as an ornamental plant by many nurseries, but there's also a culinary use of leaves and flowers in making liquors and bitters. Common yarrow has been often used in the traditional medicine for its astringent effects.

The flowering is particularly interesting for bees and other pollinating insects. It is in fact considered a mellifera species.
